Gold already liberated by nature and occurring in gravel, sand and sediments.

Free-milling gold
Core application

Gold that can be physically liberated from hard rock through controlled crushing and grinding.

Requires controlled liberation before recovery can be evaluated.

Sulphide-associated gold
Test required

Gold occurring together with sulphide minerals. Recoverability depends on how the gold occurs and how effectively it can be liberated.

Requires testwork to understand liberation and recovery potential.

Refractory gold
Specialist evaluation

Very fine gold locked inside mineral structures and not necessarily recoverable by physical separation alone.

Requires specialist evaluation before a process route is selected.
